KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say one of two vehicles involved in a crash in Sahali this morning was stolen.

The crash happened at just after 9:00 this morning, along Summit Drive near the intersection with Notre Dame Drive.

Corporal Jodi Shelkie says a car hit the back of a truck, but witnesses told police the driver of the car took off on foot.

Shelkie says officers were fortunate to spot him a short time later on Thor Drive.

"When police officers were responding, they fanned out in different directions because we knew he was fleeing the area," said Shelkie. "We came in from different areas and we were lucky enough that someone spotted him and he matched the description."

Shelkie says the suspect is a 36 year old Kamloops man and is previously known to police.

He'll be facing a series of charges including possession of stolen property.

No one was hurt in the crash.
