Sewer, transportation top issues for City of Kamloops, Tk’emlups

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops City Council and the Tk’emlups Indian Band met for the second time this year, a community to community meeting. 

Both councils met at the Parkside Lounge on Monday to discuss shared services like fire, sewer, and land-use agreements.

With development happening in areas like Sun Rivers, and increased pressure on the sewer system, Kamloops City Councillor Ken Christian says it’s important to be on the same page.

For the Tk’emlups Indian Band, while improved sewer services for a growing Sun Rivers, the transportation network around Kamloops, including on the reserve, is just as critical.
