Chase RCMP confirm death of pedestrian struck by train

CHASE, B.C. —The Chase RCMP Detachment is reporting a 50 year old man has been struck and killed by a train about 5 km west of Chase.

Police say the man was on the tracks around 7:30 a.m. when he was struck by a westbound train.

RCMP, CP Railway Police and the Coroner's Office attended and rail traffic was stopped for approximately 3.5 hours.

Chase RCMP request that anyone who witnessed the incident contact them at 250-679-3221.
