BURNABY  —   Burnaby RCMP is investigating an unusual case this morning after a car slammed into a house following a shooting.

Shortly after 1 a.m. RCMP responded to reports of shots fired near Broadway and Fell Avenue. When they arrived they found a car had crashed into the basement of a home, apparently in reverse.

First responders had to pull the man from the vehicle using the jaws of life and rushed him to hospital.

It appears he was shot in the head but he is expected to survive.

A family of five was home at the time of the incident but they were not hurt.

Mounties say they do not have any suspects at this time but they are asking for any witnesses to come forward.

There is no word on whether this latest shooting was targeted or gang-related.
