Starbucks saturation: coffee shop building 11th location in Kamloops

KAMLOOPS — If you’re a Starbucks fan- it’s just what the doctor ordered.

The City of Kamloops has confirmed the ubiquitous coffee chain will be opening a new location at the corner of McGill Road and Columbia Street West.

The property next to Beattie Elementary School has long sat vacant, but used to be home to a gas station.

This will be the fifth Starbucks location within a two-block radius.

The coffee chain also has locations inside Old Main on the Thompson Rivers University campus, inside Safeway in the Sahali Mall, next to Shopper’s Drug Mart in the Columbia Place Shopping Centre and a stand-alone location in the Summit Shopping Centre.
