KAMLOOPS — Donations have been pouring in the last few months for the family of Jessie Simpson, the Kamloops teen who was beaten with a baseball bat in Brocklehurst in June.

On Wednesday, after months of collecting items around town, family friend Christina Forde and a dozen volunteers dropped them off at Value Village downtown. In exchange for the donations, Value Village is offering a monetary donation to Simpson’s mom, who hasn’t been able to work.

19-year-old Jessie remains in a coma at Royal Inland Hospital after the June incident.  39-year old Kristopher Teichrieb is facing charges in connection with the incident.
