LANGLEY, B.C. — The Blazers suffered a 3-1 loss playing their third game in as many nights on Sunday night in Langley against the Vancouver Giants.

The Giants were the fresher team and scored the game’s first goal. Brendan Semchuk took a nice feed from Dawson Holt and scored his second of the season.

James Malm made it 2-0 on an odd man rush. He finished off a rebound as the Giants had the 2-0 lead nine minutes into the game.

Luke Zazula got the Blazers on the scoreboard in the second period. His shot from the point found its way through traffic and past goaltender Ryan Kubic to cut the Giants lead to 2-1.

The Giants responded with a goal six minute after Zazula’s marker. James Malm took a quick shot under the glove of goaltender Connor Ingram on an odd man rush for a 3-1 Giants lead.

The Blazers ran out of gas in the third period. They created some chances, but failed to score in a 3-1 loss to the Giants.

The Blazers were 0-for-2 on the power play, while the Giants finished 0-for-4 on the night. The Blazers outshot the Giants 28-25 in the game.

The Blazers finished the weekend with a 1-2-0-0 record. The hockey club will now go east to Alberta to play three games this week in Red Deer, Calgary and Medicine Hat.
