Crash near Pritchard kills Alberta man

CHASE, B.C. — An Alberta man has died in a pre-dawn crash east of Kamloops.

According Chase RCMP, the 57 year old man was driving a pickup truck on the Trans Canada Highway near Martin Prairie Road at Pritchard at about 1:30 this morning when the truck veered off the road to the right.

The truck slammed into an embankment before coming to rest in the ditch.

Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead soon after.

Officers say they don’t know why the vehicle left the road, and the BC Coroners Service has joined the investigation.
