KAMLOOPS — Property owners in the Clearwater and Salmon Arm fire zones can begin their fall backyard burning as of tomorrow morning.

Kamloops Fire Centre officials have announced they are rescinding Category Two and Category Three fire bans in those areas.

The fire centre has yet to see a campfire ban this summer, and Fire Information Officer Max Birkner says it's not unheard of to get an entire season without a ban.

"In 2008, 2007 and 2006, there were actually no campfire bans throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre. But during all other times, campfire bans have been implemented."

Birkner says in 2011 a campfire ban was implemented on September 14 and last about a week.
