KAMLOOPS — Just one day after Terry Lake announced he won't run for a third term in Kamloops-North Thompson, a contender to succeed him has already emerged.

Steven Puhallo, a longtime BC Liberal organizer and executive director of the North Shore Business Improvement Association, announced his intentions to seek the party's nomination today.

Ahead of an official announcement, Puhallo launched a candidate Facebook page declaring himself a candidate.

Puhallo may have competition for the nomination.

Kamloops Mayor Peter Milobar said yesterday he is considering his own political future in light of Lake's announcement.
