Hikers rescued from Mount Seymour

NORTH VANCOUVER, B.C. — A happy ending for two hikers lost overnight on Mount Seymour near Vancouver.

The two spent the night in an emergency shelter. According to the North Shore Search and Rescue Facebook page, they were airlifted by helicopter out of the area this morning.

Crews had spent the night searching the trails for signs of the missing hikers. They were reported lost last night in the Elsay Lake area on the mountain.

There is an emergency shelter in the area. Fortunately the hikers found it and were able to wait things out until this morning’s rescue.
