Pendrel ready for RIO

KAMLOOPS —Kamloops lone athlete at the RIO Olympics is getting ready for her day in the sun.

Catharine Pendrel will take her ride in the women’s mountain bike race on Saturday morning.

This will be Pendrel’s third Olympics.

In 2008 in Beijing she went in under the radar and just missed the podium, finishing fourth.

Four years later in London, Pendrel was one of the favourites, but it did’nt work out, and she was ninth.
