KAMLOOPS — A stolen boat has been recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

RCMP say the owner of an 11 foot inflatable Zodiac reported the vessel stolen from his dock two days ago.

Staff Sgt. Robert Daly said a friend of the owner spotted the boat on the Thompson River yesterday afternoon, Aug 17.

"The RCMP placed their police boat in the river and were able to apprehend a male and female, both adults, on board the vessel," Daly said. "They were arrested for possession of stolen property over $1,000 and as well as had outstanding warrants for their arrests for possession of stolen property as well."

The pair were arrested around 6 p.m. and will be making an appearance in front of a judge this morning, Aug 18.
