KAMLOOPS — Women’s rugby is a sport on the rise in Canada.

Today’s bronze medal win at the Olympics helps prove that Canada is a team to be reckoned with on the international stage.

Later this month some Olympic hopefuls will be heading to France for an Under-18 tournament.

There will be an athlete from Kamloops on that team, hoping to make an impression with Rugby Canada brass.

She’s not the first athlete from her family to wear the maple leaf on her rugby jersey.
