Owner of abandoned vehicle found deceased in Kamloops Lake

KAMLOOPS — A sad update to a search for the owner of an abandoned vehicle near Savona. 

Initially Kamloops RCMP were notified of a vehicle left near the Dump Road on July 31st, and after two days of searching for the occupant with the help of various agencies, they were unable to locate him.

On Saturday August 6, a body was discovered in Kamloops lake, and a police boat was called in to recover it. 

Police were able to identify the body, and confirm the man was linked to the abandoned vehicle from the Lower Mainland.
