Small aircraft crashes on landing at Kamloops airport

KAMLOOPS — A light plane arriving at Kamloops airport this morning created some issues for airport officials.
Airport Manager Fred Legace says it happened when the plane touched down, “one of his main landing gear collapsed, and he swung off the side of the runway. There was one person on board, and there were no injuries.”
The incident happened about 10:30 this morning (August 8).
Legace says the incident shortened the runway by a couple of thousand feet, but an Air Canada flight expected to arrive at 11:06 has landed according to the airport website.
