Pendrel tunes up for Olympics with WC win

KAMLOOPS — Catharine Pendrel will be riding a World Cup win into the Rio Olympics.

In her final ride prior to the Olympic mountain bike race August 20, Pendrel won the World Cup race in Quebec this weekend.

Her winning time of one hour, 31 minutes and 31 seconds was 43 seconds ahead of a rider from Norway and just over a minute and a half ahead of Pendrel’s Olympic teammate Emily Batty.
