Chase still chasing its skate park dream

CHASE, B.C. —  The committee trying to build a new skate park in Chase weren’t the overall winners in the Kraft  Heinz Project Play contest, but they were excited enough about the final results to continue their fundraising efforts. 

They were hoping to receive the grand prize of $250,000 to fund the new park, but lost out to Cantley, Quebec, who are developing a  cross country ski project. 

But Chase officials say they received votes for their idea from across the country and will use a crowdfunding site to ramp up donations.

They will get $20,000 as a start from the Project Play contest for being in the final four.
