KAMLOOPS — When she rides in the mountain bike race on August 20th, Catharine Pendrel will be competing in her third Olympics.

Born in Fredericton and raised outside the small community of Harvey Station, New Brunswick, Pendrel took up mountain biking on a whim — because in Catharine’s own words “she sucked at all other school sports.”

What a whim!

It’s taken her from east coast to west coast and home now in Kamloops, to become one of the top mountain bike racers in the world.
