KAMLOOPS — The newest airline flying into Kamloops has been having its share of problems.

The first flight from Kamloops on the weekend was delayed in departure because of mechanical problems.

The flight from Victoria to Kamloops tonight (August 3) has been delayed, because of a maintenance issue.

The plane was scheduled to leave Victoria at 6:05 tonight and get into Kamloops at 7:00, but the Victoria airport website now indicates the plane won't be leaving the capital until 8:20.

Julie Rempel, Director of Corporate Communications for NewLeaf travel told CFJC Today, "Obviously NewLeaf, and Flair Airlines hope that we never experience delays. Whether the delay is due to weather, or a small maintenance issue, there is a whole host of reasons why there could be delays. Hopefully moving forward the delays are less and less and less."

Rempel adds she is pleased with the company's response in getting an emergency aircraft on the route, with limited delay.
