KAMLOOPS — Two people have been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing a truck.

Kamloops RCMP arrested a 23-year-old man and 23-year-old woman last night, July 30, after attempting to catch the pair for a couple of days.

On Friday an off-duty officer witnessed the vehicle driving erratically on Halston Avenue, and it was later seen avoiding a road block early yesterday morning on Mt. Paul Way.

RCMP spotted the vehicle a third time shortly before 8:00 p.m. yesterday. Police say the vehicle was speeding on the Yellowhead Hwy and the driver refused to pull over.

The truck was later spotted in a residential area south of Columbia Street, but police did not pursue the vehicle for the sake of public safety.

Finally, the vehicle was found abandoned a short distance away and the man from BC and woman from Alberta were arrested.

Both were wanted on outstanding warrants.

The vehicle was from Grand Prairie, Alberta.
