KAMLOOPS — An investigation is underway into an overnight fire on Willow Street.

Platoon Captain Jeff Bell says fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire in the 300 block of Willow Street around 10:45 last night.

"On arrival there was smoke and flames showing, coming from the roof of the house," Bell said. "We did an offensive attack on the house, and put the fire out, checked the house to make sure everybody was clear. There was only one person home at the time."

Bell says KFR cleared the scene just after 1:00 this morning, but there were some potential flare ups later on.

"The fire inspector reported that he did see some smoke," Bell said. "So we've got a crew there just checking into it, there may be some small hidden voids where there's fire that's still smoldering."

There is no word on a cause as of yet.
