KAMLOOPS — If you're going to Royal Inland Hospital today, you'll want to know that the new parkade opens today.

The 350-stall parkade will be accessed through the breezeway just south 3rd Avenue.

Health Service Director Kris Kristjanson says there will be an extra staff person and signage to point the way.

The existing parkade we've used for so many years will not be off limits to the public, and only open to hospital staff.

Pedestrians will also have a new option. You can go the old way and take the million stairs up to the first floor level, or you can enter via the new clinical services building, take an elevator which will go up to the second floor, and you can walk across the pedestrian walkway, entering the main hospital on the second floor.
