Canadiens sign free agent forward Farnham to one-year, two-way contract

MONTREAL — The Montreal Canadiens agreed to a one-year, two-way contract with forward Bobby Farnham on Friday.

The five-foot-10, 188-pound right-winger had eight goals and two assists and had 97 penalty minutes in 53 NHL games last season with Pittsburgh and New Jersey.

Farnham, 27, a graduate of Brown University, began his career in the Boston Bruins organization in 2011-12 and has spent most of time in the minor leagues. He has played 64 career NHL games, amassing 10 points and 121 penalty minutes.
