KAMLOOPS — Cole Kehler is getting an opportunity to revive his Western Hockey League career.

The 18-year-old Kehler, going into his 19-year-old season, has been shipped off to the Portland Winterhawks for a seventh-round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

The former Blazers backup spent most of last season with the Merritt Centennials, playing 43 games and posting a .898 saves percentage.

“Cole Kehler has been a good Blazer teammate,” says Blazers GM Stu MacGregor. “He was always available and willing to work and support our organization. This trade is a good opportunity for Cole to establish his game in Portland. We wish him the best in the future.”
