KAMLOOPS — Police are now saying there was nothing suspicious in the death of a woman whose body was found on the shore of the South Thompson River yesterday (Tuesday) morning.

In a news release this morning (Wednesday), RCMP Corporal Jodi Shelkie says after an investigation by General Duty and Major Crimes officers, police did not find anything suspicious in the woman's death.

Shelkie says the woman was believed to be in her 50's.

The investigation will be continued by the Coroner's office.

Police aren't saying at this point whether or not they know the woman's identity.
