VANCOUVER —  B-C Hydro says crews have found damage to 18 power poles following the Burns Bog wildfire in Delta.

The utility says its crews have been monitoring the 78-hectare blaze since Sunday and are now waiting for clearance from the fire department to begin replacing the poles.

In addition to replacing the poles, crews will need to rebuild a distribution line and transfer undamaged power lines to the new poles. In addition to power poles, some radio stations who had transmitting towers in the bog are assessing damage to their structures as well.
