VICTORIA —   The B-C government is giving 1.5 million dollars to a program that supports parents with kids who have behavioural problems.
The “Confident Parents: Thriving Kids” program is run by the Canadian Mental Health Association and is free for B-C parents who have a referral from a doctor or nurse.
The program links families with coaches over the phone who help parents respond to their child’s behavioural issues and improve their interactions with family, friends and teachers.
Children’s Minister Stephanie Cadieux (ca-DOO) says confident parents raise strong, happy children and the next generation will benefit from the supportive and flexible program. (The Canadian Press)
