Venom open TOJLL playoffs with win

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Venom have taken the first game in their first round Thompson Okanagan Junior Lacrosse playoff.

The Venom defeated the South Okanagan Flames 9-5 for a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.

Riley Peterson, Kyle Pauwels, Anthony Matusiak and Bowen Stauffere each scored twice for the Venom, who oushot the Flames 52-39.

Game two is Thursday in Oliver, with game three returning to Memorial Arena in Kamloops on Saturday.
