KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents were well behaved on Canada day.

RCMP are thanking the public for safe and successful festivities after no major incidents were reported yesterday, July 1.

Police stepped up their presence in Riverside Park, Pioneer Park and the downtown core as thousands of people attended the day's celebrations and watched the fireworks.

RCMP did, however, deal with issues relating to alcohol consumption and possession as well as public disturbances.

A booth was also set up in the park to help parents reunite with lost children quicker than usual.
