KAMLOOPS — Two Kamloops Blazers have been selected in the 3rd Round of the 2016 NHL Draft.

First it was Garrett Pilon, selected 87th overall by the Washington Capitals, then with the next pick the Tampa Bay Lightning selected Blazers goaltender Connor Ingram.

Pilon scored 15 goals and totaled 47 points in his first year in the WHL.

Ingram was statistically one of the best netminders in the WHL last season. In 61 games played, he earned 34 wins, had a Goals Against Average of 2.61 and a .922 Save Percentage for the Blazers. He is also one of four goaltenders selected to attend Hockey Canada’s selection camp for the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships.

It’s the first time the Blazers have had two players selected in the same NHL Draft since 2013, when J.C. Lipon and Cole Ully were picked at #91, and #131, respectively.
