Blazers sign 2015 pick Appelt

KAMLOOPS — Edmonton native Ryley Appelt is the latest WHL Bantam draft pick to sign with the Kamloops Blazers. 

The team announced the signing today, a standard WHL player agreement. Appelt, who stands 6’2″ and is 180 pounds, was taken by the Blazers in the fourth round, 81st overall, in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft. 

Last season, Appelt scored seven goals and had nine points in 17 games with with Edmonton CAC in the Alberta Midget Hockey League. 

“Ryley is a big, strong forward who has continued to develop and improve,” commented Director of Player Personnel, Matt Recchi. “We feel he has the potential to develop into a power forward that will be effective at both ends of the ice. We are excited to have Ryley join our program.”
