KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops will present its plan to access the former Owl Road Landfill, at a public meting tonight, June 22.

The city purchased the Owl Road Landfill from Dan Ambrosi last year, for nearly $7 million, and are now transforming it into a Resource Recovery Centre, to accept construction and commercial waste. After concerns from area residents, a study has been completed, looking into whether it would be safer to access the facility from Owl Road off of Valleyview drive, or whether a new access should be created off of Highland Road.

Staff will present the findings of the study to council in July, before a final decision is made. Tonight’s meeting runs from 6pm to 9pm at the Valleyview Arena. The city will make a formal presentation at 6pm and repeat that same presentation again at 7:30pm.
