RCMP seek witnesses of early morning assault

KAMLOOPS — An early morning assault in Kamloops has sent one man to jail and another to hospital. 

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it happened early Sunday morning, June 19, on Holt St.

“This morning at around 4:50 a.m. a homeowner on the North Shore looked out his window and saw a male that he didn’t recognize in his driveway,” Shelkie said. “The homeowner went outside, he approached the male and an altercation ensued.”

Shelkie said the man who had been spotted in the driveway suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was taken to Royal Inland Hospital. 

The 39-year-old homeowner was arrested and faces charges. He was not previously known to police.
