LILLOOET, B.C. — A Lillooet RCMP officer had his first appearance in court scheduled for today, facing allegations that he stole exhibits from the RCMP lockup.

Sergeant Darrell Robinson is facing a total of eight charges, including theft and breach of trust by a public officer.

The charges came after an internal audit of the Lillooet RCMP exhibit locker, conducted in February of 2015.

The audit uncovered improper processing and handling of exhibits, leading to a pair of new investigations.
