KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Search and Rescue was called out to the Thompson River in the Ashcroft area yesterday, but in this case, volunteers were quite happy to come away without finding anyone.

The organization's swift water rescue team was summoned when a boat was discovered capsized in the river, with its contents floating not far away.

Volunteers secured the boat and searched the river and surrounding area.

Late last evening, Search Manager Alan Hobler posted an update to KSAR's Facebook page, saying no one was found, no one was reported missing, and it's possible the boat was simply derelict.
