KAMLOOPS — NEW: Kamloops squeaked out a record temperature of 35.3°C today, Monday June 6, surpassing the old record of 35.2°C in 1977. Numbers will be confirmed Tuesday.

Also, Environment Canada has confirmed Kamloops set a temperature record Sunday.

The official high temperature came in at 35.6°C degrees, besting the old record of 35.0°C set in 1957.

Forecaster Lisa Coldwells says Kamloops should remain above 30°C for daytime highs through to Wednesday.

Things cool off toward the end of the week, and Coldwells says Saturday’s daytime high could be as low as 20°C, which would be four degrees below normal.
