Two vehicle collision in Kamloops claims one life

KAMLOOPS — A two vehicle collision on the Yellowhead Highway has now been confirmed as a fatal accident. 

Sgt. Mike Pears said in a statement, "Investigators at this time can confirm a utility trailer being pulled by a northbound pickup truck with three occupants collided with a southbound small SUV with one female occupant. The female occupant of the SUV was deceased at the collision scene."

The accident occurred near the Kamloops Pow Wow Grounds shortly before 4 p.m Friday, June 3. 

B.C. Ambulance says they dispatched three ground ambulances to the scene. 

The highway has since re-opened following the collision. 

RCMP are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact Robin Dupuis at the Central Interior Traffic Services office at 250-828-3159.
