KAMLOOPS — It’s going to be a very hot weekend, and with the high temperatures come words of caution from the Provincial Wildfire Coordination Centre in Kamloops.

With temperatures predicted into the mid to high 30 degree range all weekend long there’s an increased fire risk in the Kamloops area.

Fire Information Officer, Claire Allen says strong winds and dry conditions could create a dangerous situation.

“People need to be very careful with any kind of open fires that they have, especially in the Kamloops area where we have a Category 2 open fire prohibition in place,” she said.
