KAMLOOPS — RCMP have arrested a 40-year old man wanted in connection with a break and enter early Tuesday morning. Police knew who they were looking for- the man is well known to them- and yesterday (Wednesday) a group of officers arrested the man at the Real Canadian Superstore on West Columbia Street.

Staff Sergeant Ed Preto says the man had been evading police since the break and enter was committed. He says the man was known to be violent with the police and others, and police had several officers on hand to ensure public safety during the arrest. Fortunately, the arrest was made without incident.

The suspect is expected to be in court today.
