KAMLOOPS — Kamloops residents continue to find ways to help the evacuees of Fort McMurray.

An group of women in the community have created the Kamloops Pit Stop for those making their way through the city.

Elly Grabner is one of the organizers, she said they wanted to create a one-stop spot for evacuees to pick up some essential items.

“They can stop in here, get some supplies including food, toiletries, blankets, basic clothing, baby supplies, diapers, that kind of thing,” Grabner said, “and also to connect those people with other Kamloops residents who are offering up space in their homes if those people need a space to stay temporarily.”
