KAMLOOPS — The Environmental Assessment Office has approved KGHM-Ajax’s request to put the timeline for its environmental review process on hold.

The company submitted the request earlier this week, saying it needed more time to respond to comments and questions submitted by the technical working group, First Nations, and members of the public.

In an email from the provincial Ministry of Environment, the EAO says it has granted the request on day 107 of the 180 day review period, and the timeline will remain suspended until the company answers the questions posed.

At the same time, the EAO says it will continue working on its end, going through the environmental assessment process.
