Record breaking season at Sun Peaks Resort

KAMLOOPS — It’s official. Sun Peaks resort has had a record breaking season. 

President of Tourism Sun Peaks, Christopher Nicolson says the resort saw a 13.4 per cent increase in room occupancy compared to last winter. 

He says that’s nearly 4 per cent higher than the 2007-2008 season. 

“In that particular year it was a record, it has been a benchmark that we have been targeting for quite a few years, and this year being able to surpass that by quite a margin is a huge accomplishment,” said Nicolson. 

Nicolson attributes the successful season to the snow pack, the dollar exchange, and repeat visitors.
