KAMLOOPS — The face of the Kamloops RCMP detachment is changing.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie will take over as the detachment's media relations officer, starting next Monday.

She succeeds Cpl. Cheryl Bush, who will return to general duty.

Supt. Brad Mueller says Shelkie was previously the media relations officer in Fort St. John.

"With 19 years of service in the RCMP, we are very fortunate to have Cpl. Shelkie's experience and background coming in behind Cheryl," said Mueller. "Jodi has spent her entire service in BC, this being her fourth detachment."

"Shelkie has post-secondary education in marketing and public relations, and worked in radio communications prior to joining the force."
