WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP in Williams Lake have made a trio of arrests in a Wednesday night disturbance they believe is connected to a homicide.

A 20-year-old man died in hospital Wednesday after he was treated for a gunshot wound.

Police say at the same time, a gun-related disturbance was reported at a home on Second Avenue.

Corporal Dave Tyreman says three arrests have been made in relation to that incident.

"So far there are three people in custody. There is a 21-year-old [man] and a 27-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman who are in custody, and we put forward charges on this regarding discharging a firearm with intent and reckless discharging of a firearm," said Tyreman.

Tyreman says investigators are still piecing together how the disturbance was related to the homicide.

He notes the entire situation is believed to be gang-related.
