Sun Peaks extends Summer lift hours

KAMLOOPS — Sun Peaks Resort markets itself as the second-largest ski area in Canada.

Simultaneously, it is trying to position itself as a four-season recreation spot.

To that end, the resort has announced daily lift operations will be extended starting this summer, running from 10 a-m to 7 p-m daily.

That’s an extra two hours into every evening.

Sales and Marketing Director Aidan Kelly says it’s another effort to draw visitors in long after the snow has melted.

“It just opens up further opportunity for guests to have that signature Sun Peaks experience with the lifts running until 7pm everyday,” said Kelly. “Longer operating hours, and more chances for people to get out there, enjoy and explore depending on their arrival or departure times into Sun Peaks.”

Kelly adds more and more people are visiting the mountain during the summer for mountain biking and hiking.
