WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — A 20 year old man is dead in what police are calling a gang-related homicide in Williams Lake.

RCMP Corporal Dave Tyreman says police received two calls within short order yesterday evening – one reporting a disturbance in a home, and another reporting a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the local hospital’s emergency room.

Tyreman says the victim is known to police.

“Our belief early on in this investigation is that it is a targeted incident, and it is definitely gang related,” said Tyreman. “Knowing that, we have our North District Major Crimes Unit, our local forensic identification team, as well as local general investigative units and our police service dog [involved].”
