WolfPack baseball begins CCBC season with a split

KAMLOOPS — Kamloops, BC – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack baseball team split the first two games of their opening weekend today (March 26th). They beat Okanagan College Coyotes by a score of 7-6 and lost to the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs 15-6.

 

In game one, rookie Dillon Ferguson (Kirkland, Washington) started for the ‘Pack and went seven innings, allowing five runs on ten hits and two walks. He also struck out two batters and got the no decision. Bryant Jameus (Kamloops, BC) got the win in relief. He went two innings, allowing one run on no hits and three walks.

 

Offensively, Ethan Mohan (Calgary, Alberta) and John Young (Fort McMurray, Alberta) both went 2-4 with a single, double, and a RBI. Tony Tabor (White Rock, BC) and Josh Hillis (Calgary, Alberta) both went 1-3 with a single, a walk and run scored. Evan Douglas (White Rock, BC) went 1-4 with a RBI double and two runs scored.

 

Isiah McDonald (Grand Forks, BC) and Anthony Grouette (Calgary, Alberta) each had a walk and a RBI.

 

Regan Gillis (Fort McMurray, Alberta) started game two for the WolfPack and got the no decision. He went 5.1 innings, allowing six runs on seven hits and four walks, while striking out two. Jesse Marks (Sarnia, Ontario) came into the game in relief and went 3.2 innings, allowing nine runs (four earned, five unearned) on eight hits and one walk. He struck out three.

 

Josh Hillis went 3-5 with three singles, two stolen bases and a run scored. Ethan Mohan went 1-5 with a triple and three RBIs. Blayne Halland (Kamloops, BC) went 1-3 with two walks and two runs scored.

 

Riley Johnson (Kamloops, BC) and Jordy Cunningham (Ladner, BC) also collected a base hit each.

 

The WolfPack continue their opening weekend tomorrow (March 27th) playing against Prairie Baseball Academy at 10am and Okanagan College at 4pm.
