KAMLOOPS — The 2016 Y Strong Kids Challenge officially wrapped up today, with the presentation of the team awards at the Downtown Y this morning.

The Royal Inland Hospital Team “Rebels Igniting Health,” took home the fitness award, after completing 100 percent of their fitness goals over the four week challenge. The “Kelson Calorie Killers” won the social media award, for raising the most awareness on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram during the event. The award for the top fundraisers went to the Y Board the, who exceeded their goal by raising over $7000.

Darcy Harris says the Kamloops Y couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the campaign. “We had 13 awesome teams. They worked their hardest over 29 days. A lot of them met or exceeded their fitness goals. Six teams actually exceeded their fundraising goals, and [the funds raised by] these teams alone mean 480 kids will be able to participate in Y programs, or belong to the Y this year,” Harris told CFJC Today.
