KAMLOOPS — The President of Tourism Sun Peaks will step down from the post next month but he won't be going too far away.

Christopher Nicolson has been named the new CEO of Canada West Ski Areas Association, though he will still be based in Sun Peaks.

Nicholson has been at the helm since 1993 prior to the creation of Tourism Sun Peaks in 1996.

“I would say from Sun Peaks from the 1990's, it was defined by bricks and mortar and the creation of infrastructure. Over the last 10 years, most would agree it's been a social development or an evolution of the community. That's what makes it so great to live here and so difficult to leave.

The Canada West Ski Areas Association represents more than 130 Western Canada ski resorts and addresses issues that impact the ski industry.
